Sheikh Theyab bin Tahnoon bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Ain University, congratulated the University’s students on the start of the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year, welcoming new students and returning students back to campus. He wished them an academic year filled with success, excellence, and achievement.

Sheikh Theyab emphasized that the beginning of a new academic year represents a renewed opportunity for ambition, hard work, and knowledge acquisition. He encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities available to them at the University, remain committed to their academic journey, and continue developing their skills and capabilities to contribute effectively to the future of their country and society.

He said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome our students as we begin a new academic year, and I wish them a journey filled with knowledge and achievement. We hope this stage will provide every student with an opportunity to discover their potential, develop their skills, and turn their ambitions into accomplishments that contribute to building their future and serving their country.”

For his part, Prof. Amer Qasim, President of Al Ain University, congratulated students and members of the academic and administrative staff on the start of the new academic year, stressing that the University begins the new semester with renewed aspirations and an ongoing commitment to providing an educational environment that supports students’ success and enables them to achieve their academic and professional goals.

He said: “As we begin a new semester, we welcome both our new and returning students and look forward to a year filled with learning, achievement, and active engagement. At Al Ain University, we strive to provide every student with a comprehensive university experience that combines academic knowledge, practical application, and skills development, preparing them to meet future demands with confidence and competence.”

The start of the new academic year coincides with Al Ain University’s continued development of its academic portfolio and the introduction of innovative programs that respond to labor market needs and rapid developments across various sectors. Among the latest offerings is the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, alongside new programs in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Digital Media, as well as specialized programs in Dentistry and Health Sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, further expanding the range of academic opportunities available to students.

The University has also completed its preparations to welcome students at its Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses, ensuring the readiness of classrooms, laboratories, academic and technological facilities, and supporting services to provide an integrated and stimulating learning environment. Colleges and academic and administrative units are also working to support students from the beginning of the semester and facilitate their access to the services and resources they need throughout their university journey.

Al Ain University places particular emphasis on preparing new students for university life through a series of orientation programs and sessions held at the beginning of each semester. These initiatives introduce students to academic regulations and policies, university services and facilities, academic advising, and student activities, while also giving them the opportunity to learn more about their colleges and academic programs and engage with university officials and academic advisors, helping them integrate into campus life from their first days.

The new academic year also coincides with the continuation of development initiatives across both campuses, including the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the enhancement of laboratories at the College of Communication and Media, and improvements to recreational facilities and university services. These developments reflect the University’s commitment to providing a modern environment that supports applied learning, creativity, engagement, and the evolving needs of its students.

Al Ain University also continues to strengthen its academic presence and standing at both the regional and international levels through its progress across a number of prestigious global and regional rankings. This reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to advancing the quality of education and research and enhancing its academic and societal impact.
