About the program

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, offered by the College of Business (COB) at Al Ain University (AAU), provides a broad business education deemed by the key stakeholders in the UAE society. The program includes concentrated education in the following specialized areas:

  5. Human Resources Management
  6. Management Information Systems
  7. Project Management (New Spring 2019)
  8. Healthcare Management (New Spring 2019)



A Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at AAU is designed for business professionals who seek future mobility and promotion in the work environment together with those who intend to proceed for their postgraduate studies.



MBA program equips participants with knowledge, skills and competence to be able to lead and tackle local and global business challenges keeping in view human values, ethics and social responsibility in strategic decision making.



The MBA program aims to:

  • Provide students with high-quality education at internationally-approved standards to enable them, after graduation, to make successful managerial decisions at optimal levels of managerial competencies.
  • Prepare highly skilled graduates to meet the market demand for professional managers in all business functions.
  • Enhance students’ business professional skills for sound decisionmaking process at relevant managerial positions in all types of business organizations.
  • Help students to build a personal professional value system necessary to conduct business and make decisions according to high ethical standards of business conduct.


Learning Outcomes

Upon graduation, students should be able to:

Admission Requirements

General Admission Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree or its equivalent approved by the UAE Ministry of Education, with a minimum (GPA) of (3 out of 4), or its equivalent on the Bachelor level.
  • A valid English Language Proficiency Certificate in one of the below certificates or its equivalent, at least as the following:

Conditional Requirements 

A student may be granted conditional admission in the Master of Business Administration in the following cases: 

  • If a student obtains a score of (IELTS Academic 5.5) or (TOEFL 530) or (EMSAT 1250) or its equivalent and has an average of at least (3 out of 4), s/he will be granted a conditional admission, provided that the student:

- Obtains a score of (550 in TOEFL) or (6 in IELTS Academic) by the end of the first semester of joining the program.

- Registers for no more than (6) credit hours in the first semester of joining the program, and gets a GPA of (3 out of 4).

- Obtains a GPA of (3 out of 4) in the first (6) hours of the approved program. 

  • If a student obtains a Bachelor’s degree with a GPA between (2 and 2.99 out of 4) or its equivalent and meets the conditions of the English language certification, as set out above, s/he will be granted a conditional admission, provided that the student:

- Registers for no more than (9) credit hours in the first semester of joining the program,

- Obtains a GPA of (3 out of 4) in the first (9) hours of the approved program. A student may study the (9) credit hours in two semesters (3 + 6) or three semesters (3 + 3 + 3).

  • Students with Bachelor degrees in specializations unrelated to business administration can advance to the MBA program, taking into account the following conditions:

- Taking 4 prerequisite courses as specified by a department, and can only be exempted from all remedial materials that have been studied at a Bachelor’s level.

Graduation Requirements

To obtain a Master of Business Administration (General), a student must successfully complete 33 credit hours, with a minimum (CGPA) of 3 out of 4.
