AAU delegation participates in UAE Women's Day celebrations
A delegation of female academic and administrative staff and students from Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) attended a session aimed at young women under the banner of "Emirati Women: Major Achievements". Organized by Al Mubarakah Foundation in cooperation with Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy at Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, the session formed part of celebrations of UAE Women's Day 2018.
Dr. Huda Al Matrooshi, a member of the Executive Committee of Al Mubarakah Foundation, moderated a lively discussion with a panel of accomplished women from the UAE community. Presenters who spoke about their experiences and success included Mira Al Mhairi (nuclear plant inspector) Fatima Al Ameri, (member of UAE Women's Ice Hockey Team) Nada Al-Masri (TV anchor, Abu Dhabi TV) Maitha Al Ma'amari (winner, Best Project Award, World Government Summit) and Sheikha Al Mansouri (student with special needs representing Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care).
The session was notable for an atmosphere of enthusiasm and feelings of national pride in a country and leadership which empowers its women. It concluded with workshops on yoga and cooking to highlight the important role of mental and physical well-being in women’s ability to contribute and achieve in their society.
