Geographical Information System Introductory Seminar at AAUIn collaboration with the College of Business Administration, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University campus in Abu Dhabi organized an introductory seminar on Geographical Information System (GIS) delivered by Mr. Mohammad Abdelraheem to the students of the “Knowledge Management” course.

The lecture, which aimed at familiarizing students with the latest systems used locally and internationally, discussed the concept of GIS and its importance in planning and decision making. GIS is designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographical data in order to be utilized in various public, service, and industrial applications. The Global Positioning System (GPS), topographical maps, as well as power, water and gas grids are examples of the frequently used GIS implementations.
