An MoU between AAU and Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Center to Support Cultural and Community Activities

Al Ain University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center, aiming to strengthen frameworks for joint collaboration and expand areas of institutional cooperation between both parties, in a manner that serves the community and leverages the available expertise and capabilities of each side.

The MoU was signed at Al Ain University’s campus in Al Ain, where the university was represented by Prof. Ghaleb A. El Refae, President of Al Ain University, while the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center was represented by Her Excellency Maryam Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Center.

The agreement seeks to establish a general framework for enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two parties, organizing their relationship to support the achievement of shared objectives while preserving the independence of each entity and contributing to institutional development and the exchange of expertise.

Areas of cooperation include leveraging the capabilities and expertise of both sides, exchanging knowledge and experience, implementing field training programs, organizing training courses, and collaborating on scientific and research projects. The agreement also covers organizing joint activities and events that serve the community and promote cultural and intellectual engagement.

Her Highness Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, stated:
“The exchange of accumulated knowledge and experience among institutions within the UAE adds real value to the national knowledge base. This collaboration with Al Ain University represents a step toward further community partnerships that enhance cultural and societal engagement, particularly at a pivotal stage in the UAE’s journey toward a more advanced, modern future and deeper contribution to human civilization.”

Prof. Ghaleb A. El Refae, President of Al Ain University, emphasized that this MoU represents an important step toward expanding cooperation with leading cultural institutions in the UAE. He highlighted the university’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that enhance its societal role and promote culture and knowledge, thereby positively impacting both students and the wider community.

In turn, Her Excellency Maryam Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center, affirmed that the signing of this MoU reflects the Center’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with academic and educational institutions, supporting cultural and community initiatives, and developing joint programs that serve society and promote the dissemination of knowledge and culture.

The agreement also provides for the possibility of expanding areas of cooperation in the future, as agreed by both parties, through the formation of joint working teams to enhance coordination and oversee project implementation, ensuring the efficient and effective achievement of desired outcomes.

This MoU is part of both parties’ commitment to building effective partnerships that enhance cultural and community engagement and support the exchange of knowledge and expertise, thereby contributing to sustainable development.
