New students welcoming meeting restores positive atmosphere at AAU
The positive atmosphere returned back to Al Ain University (AAU) after the absence of live activities for nearly two years due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, through the welcoming meeting with new students for the academic year 2021-2022, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in both AAU campuses, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
Prof. Ghaleb El Refae- AAU President, welcomed the new students joining AAU at Al Ain Campus, expressing his happiness in seeing them face to face and the gradual return to university life.
AAU President has pointed out that, the University through the development phase has come a long way from the academic plans in its various programs offered in six colleges, to obtain international accreditation for the colleges. And, its keenness to attract an elite of academics
Prof. Amer Qasem, AAU Vice President, Abu Dhabi Campus, welcomed and expressed his pleasure in meeting new students. Stressing that the university embraces all their creativity and talents and wished them a successful year.
Prof. Ibtehal Aburezeq, Vice President of Development and Follow Up and the Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed the new students and provided an introduction about the Deanship, its goals, mission, and activities. She also urged students to communicate with the deanship's staff in case of any inquiries or suggestions. Wishing everyone a great university life ahead full of excellence and positivity. She also, pointed out the necessity of reading the Students Handbook because it includes lots of information that benefit them, especially the topics of the university’s honor list, students’ rights and responsibilities, academic regulations including complaints about the final grade of the course, academic integrity, and others. While, Dr. Hani Al Jarrah, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, urged students to enhance communication with the deanship's staff in case of any inquiries or suggestions. Wishing everyone a great university life full of excellence and positivity.
Short videos were played in the meeting about student activities over the past years. A group of old students also shared their experiences to motivate new students and spread positive energy in them. The day also included a range of entertainment competitions and a raffle draw for valuable prizes.
