Al Ain University allocates scholarships to the Front Line of Defense

Al Ain University announced the allocation of four scholarships (two in Al Ain and 2 in Abu Dhabi) for the front line of defense, their spouses and children, who would like to register in the bachelor programs in the university by the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021.

Through this initiative, the university seeks to support workers on the front line of defense in appreciation of their continued contributions to ensure the protection and safety of the UAE population, both citizens and residents.

Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, affirmed that the UAE has provided a unique model during the current health conditions affecting the whole world, and our wise leadership has provided all paths of decent life for citizens and residents, and all these efforts culminated in the honorable role provided by the workers in the front line of defense, expressing the pride of the university by offering these scholarships to these heroes, in recognition of their dedication.

Atatreh added that the front line defense workers can be benefitted from these scholarships to study various disciplines in engineering, pharmacy, law, education, business, communication and media. Pointing out that this initiative promotes the AAU mission to spread science and knowledge, and to provide pioneering programs to qualify specialized cadres.

For his part, Prof. Ghaleb Al-Refae, AAU President, said that this initiative seeks to honor the main workers in the health care sector in appreciation of their continuous contribution to ensuring the protection and safety of the UAE population, including citizens and residents, and it also strengthens the values of solidarity and giving that we gained from the wise leadership.

To ensure the scholarship continuity, students are required to maintain a GPA of no less than 3.0, in addition to other conditions applied to scholarships, such as the necessity to adhere to a certain number of academic hours in each semester and other criteria.
